Station Plum Crater
Station 1 is located 1400 meters west of the Lunar Module, near the rim of a 30 m diameter crater, named Plum Crater. Plum Crater is located on the rim material of 300 m diameter, 50 m deep Flag Crater. Station 1 was selected as a prime location to sample the Cayley Formation. The astronauts collected rock and soil samples and performed panoramic and stereographic photography.
