Data set documents are designed to promote understanding of the mission, spacecraft, instruments, and data formats. View the supporting documentation for a specific instrument by clicking on its list entry.
Understanding the Documents
Data set documentation is comprised of a number of documents:
SIS documents - provide detailed descriptions of data products, including how they are generated, data sources, formats, and destinations. Also included is information on coordinate systems. The SISs are intended to be used by scientists who analyze the data.
Catalog files - Mission and Instrument Description Catalog files contain high-level descriptions of the mission, spacecraft, and instruments.
Calibration documents - offer details about instrument calibration.
Software - In some cases software is available for accessing data products.
Navigating to the Data Set Documentation
You can access the data set documents by clicking on the "Resources" tab, and then clicking on the "Data Set Documents" link. Refer to the "Sol Summaries" for documentation detailing day-to-day mission operations.
