Map

The interactive traverse map provides a map based representation of Apollo surface activities. The map includes a reconstructed traverse and surface science locations with links to the data. This section describes the map features and functions.

Navigating to Map

Access the "Map" page on the Apollo AN homepage by clicking on the "Map" icon or at any time by clicking on the "Map" tab at the top of the page.

Map Functionality

The interactive traverse map was reconstructed based on Apollo era documents and rover navigation system coordinates.  To read more about the reconstruction of the traverse please see the "Restoration" section of this document.  Map functions include zoom and pan tools and an identify tool which allows the user to select a science product and gives the option to navigate to the data page for that product.  To read more about these tools please visit the "Map Tools" section of this document.  The map also includes a Query tool which allows the user to search for data products based on product type and station.  To read more about the Query tool please visit the "Query" section of this document.
